writing and listening

I've been reading a lot lately from lots of different sources across the net – in different fields – about how something formerly open and free is slowly becoming proprietary and hidden behind a paywall. The “commons” is getting gobbled up by companies that know how to fully exploit it, and do not give back anything in return. Or if they do, it has so many strings attached that it's just not worth it. Do you notice that you “buy” less things now, only “rent them” or “given a temporary revocable license”. Your money is gone forever though. You don't get that money back when your license was revoked, because you paid for the license, not the item.

We need to really break out of this walled garden and get back to the free and open commons. The web is so successful because it's open and free. But companies are co-opting it.

sigh

Anyway, I'm focusing on Real Life work today, and possibly reading up on more Godot docs.

Here's a picture I took a few days ago that amazed me. There were no other clouds in the sky.

An amazing photo of some distant clouds.
